Office Hours Today: 10am-5pm

While Downtown Columbus offers endless activities, many of us are stuck at home. Today we’re sharing a list of five things to help you pass the time.

1. Virtual Happy Hour with Friends

It’s easy to feel disconnected from our loved ones during times like these, especially when we’re missing our weekly brunch or happy hour dates with them! But we can still stay connected with our community – virtually! Set up a zoom meeting, invite your friends, and pour a glass of wine or grab your favorite beer or cocktail and catch up virtually! It may not be the same as being able to see them in person, but it’s still a great way to stay connected with those you love.

2. Travel to Another Country (Over Dinner)

Many of us are itching to travel and take a vacation out of the country. Even though we can’t travel right now, we can explore the culture of another country through their cuisine while at home. Plan dinner around your favorite place to travel, or the next location on your bucket list. Remember to support a local restaurant if you can, as many are offering delivery or takeout options! Try out a dish you’ve never tried before – don’t be afraid to be adventurous!

3. Treat Yourself With A Spa Night

Take some time to unwind after a long, stressful day by treating yourself to a spa night. Diffuse some relaxing essential oils, play your favorite relaxing playlist, and try out a new face or hair mask. Unplug from the online world for an evening and pick up a book you’ve been meaning to read and take some time to focus on yourself. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by social media and the news during times like these, and while it’s important to stay informed, it’s also important to take care of your mental health!

4. Get Outside

The weather is warming up here in Columbus, so don’t forget to take advantage of the sunshine and warmer temperatures! There are so many places to enjoy the outdoors here in Columbus, from the Scioto Mile to the Olentangy Bike Trail, to a walk in the Short North or Downtown! Highbanks Metro Park also has many beautiful trails to explore. Getting out in nature can be a great break from working from home or watching Netflix, and it’s a fun way to explore more of the city!

5. Be Creative

If you have extra free time, don’t be afraid to get creative. Try a new hobby like painting or embroidery, or trying something new in the kitchen. Now’s the time to let your creativity flow. Do you have a DIY project you’ve been meaning to tackle around your home? This is the perfect time to get started!
